Joe Hall // Staff Pastor
Pastor Joe is married to Logan, and they have three amazing kids - Lucy, Annie, and Jack. Joe has been a part of Vertical Church since the summer of 2016, and was ordained as a pastor in the summer of 2019. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Furman University, he went on to earn a Masters in Christian Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Joe enjoys cheering on the Braves, and spending time outside with Logan, Lucy, Annie, Jack, and their dog, Bear.
Scott Binns // Staff Pastor
Pastor Scott and his wife, Anne, are the parents of 5 children - Chase, Jackson, Eliza, Sam and Cannon. Scott and Anne have been attending Vertical since the summer of 2016, and Scott was ordained as a pastor in the summer of 2019. Scott serves as the executive pastor and is passionate about the study of God's Word and the impact that Christian community has in the life of the believer. Now that all of their kids are currently out of the house, Scott and Anne enjoy spending time with their canine kids Cooper and Stella. Scott also enjoys outdoor activities, yard games (especially cornhole), working out and just hanging out with Anne on their screened porch at their home in Goochland.
Micah Hefner // Staff Pastor
Micah is married to Meghan. They have been members at Vertical Church since October 2022. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in December of 2018. After working for a design firm for several years, Micah began attending seminary and working part time at Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City. He is currently working on his Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his staff role, Micah leads the family and Christian Education ministries at Vertical. He is originally from Oklahoma, and enjoys Oklahoma State Football, cooking with his wife, and playing pickleball.
Erik Haglund // Lay Pastor
Pastor Erik, and his wife Erin, have two teenage sons, James and Caleb. They have lived in Richmond, VA since 2012 and have called Vertical their church home since 2018. They have two crazy golden retrievers, love spending time outdoors and especially enjoy cheering on their boys in soccer games, track and cross country meets. Erik is passionate about ministry, sharing the gospel and drawing out biblical truths so that others can grow in their walks with Christ and empower them to share that witness boldly with others. In his free time, Erik loves to tinker with house projects, grind in his home gym and study theology to enhance his understanding of Biblical truths.
