Household
Worship Guide

January 25, 2026

A note from your pastors:

We truly miss gathering with you all this morning, and we hope that you feel the loss of the gathering as well. Our prayer is that this worship guide will equip and encourage you to worship in your home today for, though we are hindered from gathering, we are not hindered from worshiping. In the snow and in the cold, the Lord remains as worthy as ever of our complete adoration, praise, and enjoyment.

We hope that you will take the time to pray, study God’s word, and sing His praises today. If you have questions or would like to have further discussions, we’d encourage you to reach out to your community group, your pastors, or your brothers and sisters in the church. Make good use of the technology we’ve been given in this time.

Finally, we are praying for you all, asking the Lord to keep each of you safe and warm in the midst of this storm. Should you find yourself in need of help, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We will do everything in our power to come to you and care for you. We hope that you are all able to enjoy this beautiful reminder of God’s power, control, and beauty, and we look forward to when we can gather again!

In Christ’s love,

Romans 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Scripture

Singing

Come Ye Sinners

His Mercy is More

Although we may be limited in our ability to travel, we are no less sent to make disciples of all nations. We would encourage you to pray for the lost - neighbors, coworkers, family members, friends, and the nations. This snow may also give you new opportunities to meet, serve, and care for your neighbors. Look for those opportunities and be prepared to share the hope you have in Jesus!

PLAY

- Run from Sin -

Here is a fun game that illustrates how we should respond to temptation and sin. First, write down several righteous and unrighteous actions on individual papers. Next, designate a “home base” on one side of a room. Examples might be sharing, kindness, praying, helping, loving and lying, hitting, disobeying parents, bullying, stealing etc. Mix up the papers and place the stack face down on the opposite side of your “home base”. Next, quickly turn over one sheet. If it says something righteous, jump up and down and shout “The righteous shall live by faith!”, but if it says something unrighteous, you will run from that sin as fast as you can to homebase! Repeat the game until all papers are seen. (Want a challenge? Whoever makes it to homebase last is “out”!)

Talk about what today’s scripture reading teaches us about sin. Remind children that we are to turn from sin and trust in Jesus.

MOVE

- By Faith Obstacle Course -

Let’s move to better understand what it means to live by faith! First, make a simple obstacle course using pillows and chairs. Next, blind fold one person. Turn them in a circle 3 times. Then allow another person to lead them by the hand through the obstacle course. Play until everyone has taken a turn leading and being led. (Want a challenge? Lead the blindfolded person through the obstacle course by voice commands only!)

Talk about the meaning of the word faith.

Remind children that we are to live by faith.

CREATE

- Follow the Creator -

Gather your choice of modeling dough, blocks, or art materials as we create together and talk about obedience. First, place the materials in front of your children, but tell them they have to follow your directions exactly. Give directions, like “draw two circles” or “make a ball with the dough” or “build a tower using 4 blocks”. Keep adding directions making it a bit harder each time, while being sure they are following exactly what you say. Give a quick correction if they disobey your directions! (Want a challenge? Have them create using multiple materials at the same time!) Talk about the word obedience. Remind children that we should be obedient to God.

SING

- Scripture Song -

Singing Scripture is one of the most effective ways to memorize verses! Sing this song together and let God’s word dwell in you richly!

We’re working together to

make disciples of all nations.

We hope you’ll join us in

GIVING

toward that end.
